What I will say, as a patient, if you are afraid to switch providers, do not be afraid to switch providers. This is your care. This is what matters to you. This is your body. Do not be afraid to switch.
If a doctor is not giving you what you need. You have to be an advocate for yourself. I always say when I go into a new environment, a new doctor, “If you do not know myasthenia gravis, I do not want you.”
I’ve had a doctor literally google myasthenia in front of me. So I will say that was not a good experience and I wanted somebody else.
I am my own voice, so I will confidently say, “Go and try somebody else.” because you just never know what you might find out. That treatment is your bread and butter.
