I’m wondering if any of you have had experience with being in high altitude settings since you’ve had MG and if you have, what were your experiences? I have gMG and have been on IVIG (4 times every 28 days) for about ten years. Since this disease effects our respiratory system, I’m not sure how safe it is to go to the mountains, and what elevation above sea level should be safe. Thanks.

    Robert,

I’m not sure my answer will help, but I feel compelled.

I’ve had oMG for 3 years and then recently gMG for about a year.
I am a GA (general aviation) pilot.

I have never had any issue regarding O2 intake at any altitude.

That said, I also have had very little impact at all to my lungs from my MG.
Everything else, yes: but not my lungs.
    Weird.

What kind of altitude are you talking like in airplanes , on mountains, climbing montains?

I have been in planes, flown plains and been on a mountain in Colorado and NH, all no issues with anything and my MG is severe. Have not climbed to any large altitude though.
