Short Bio | Hello! My diagnosis began in 1998 when I consulted with a neurologist not familiar with seronegative MG. One year later, My PCP referred me to an MG specialist in my city. I was diagnosed the day I saw him though he was thorough and ordered an EMG and Tensilon test (both positive) as my ACHr antibodies were negative. He started me on a titration of Mestinon after my initial visit. Thymectony was “mildly hyperplastic” upon CT scan report. a Thymectomy was done 3 weeks later at which time the thymus enlarged to 45 grams (avg. Adult=15 grams). Upon recovery I felt like myself again. Maintaining since on 15 mg of pyridostigmine (Mestinon) every 4 hrs., less during cooler weather and behaving myself by pacing my activities. My neurologist is our MDA Director. |
