Transcript
There are a number of factors that go into that decision. First of all, the patient’s age, their comorbidities, and how sick they are from the Myasthenia itself will all come into play, deciding on which treatment to use.
I am looking at, does the patient have diabetes? Does the patient have osteoporosis? Does the patient have a malignancy or a thymoma? And then how sick is the patient from Myasthenia itself? Are they short of breath? Are they weak in their arms? Can they walk? All of those factor in to determine not only which treatment to start with, but how urgent the treatment should be.
