There are many times when interacting with loved ones can be difficult if they don’t have a full understanding of someone’s diagnosis or if they’re changing capacity.
Providing information, sharing experiences, giving gentle reminders, but also keeping in mind that you can direct loved ones to accredited sources of information.
So there can be times when, for example, individuals diagnosed with myasthenia gravis or their caregivers feel the need to take on a teaching role for those around them, which can be fatiguing physically and emotionally.
So provide information as you’re able, but also provide resources. Your loved ones can gather information from a trusted source. This can allow them to further their understanding while not putting the sole responsibility on you.
