I watch a lot of golf. It soothes me, somehow.

I think I must have a very mild case of ocular MG. I experienced double vision last Feb. I had an exam scheduled with an ophthalmologist already set for the day after I woke up with double vision. Turned out he was an MG specialist! Talk about a lucky break. Regardless, I have not had another episode since other than a few days last week when I could tell my eyes were “off”.

Anyway, I have been using blue blocking glasses for computer work as well as a blue light filter that is built into my Android phone. If you haven’t enabled it on yours, check in your settings to get it turned on.

I find the filter makes my screen time more pleasant, but I have been using it long before I was diagnosed.

    Good luck to you.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to think. I went in to my ophthalmologist for a cataracts consult, but the very day before, woke up to double vision. Turns out my guy is a MG specialist and recognized my symptoms immediately. The cataract discussion went by the wayside instantly.

The episode passed within two days and haven’t had one since (10 weeks and counting).

He never said that I had a high likelihood of degenerating to Gereralis MG from my Ocular, but recent reading says it is quite likely within 2-3 years. Is there anyone here who has gone from Ocular to Generalis and can share how that went down?

Hand wringing seems a bit pointless at my age of 65. I have read that some have taken the diagnosis as a wake up call for lifestyle changes, but there doesn’t seem to be any evidence that losing weight, building muscle, giving up alcohol, etc. has any effect on the outcome. I wish it did!

I wish everyone contributing the best. The stories here are pretty harrowing.

<div class=”gmail_default”>This has been a surreal experience. I had this 2-3 day episode with double vision six weeks ago, and then nothing. Not disappointed obviously, but the whole thing seems very abstract. My doctor told me that the episodes come and go out of nowhere. As long as it just affects my vision, I hope it becomes something that isn’t debilitating. I wish you all the best.</div>

  • I want to thank everyone here who has replied to my post. My ophthalmologist who happens to specialize in MG has told me he thinks it will stay with my vision. I hope he is right! I was prescribed Pyridostigmine Bromide and another pill to counteract any gastro issues that may arise. So far, I have not had a second incident of double vision and am hoping for the best.

Thanks again for so many of you taking a lot your time to reach out.
