has anyone diagnosed with either GMG or OMG gotten their vision care to be covered by Medical insurance (instead of vision insurance) due to the ever changing state of their vision because of the disease? I have to see an opthamologist 3-4 times per year and get a vision exam as my prescription for my glasses change every couple months. (they get worse, then better, then worse……..) I cant keep up and i cant afford to get an exam every couple months on top of a new pair of glasses.

The examination every year is paid for by Medicare but not the prescription(in my case).

I don’t have any answers about insurance for visual changes as I am able to use the VA for my issues.

However, I buy my glasses from deal sites like glassesonline . com or muukal . com. If you have single vision glasses and don’t need bifocals or prisms, you can often get a pair of glasses for under $20 if you get the sales frame and forego all the add-ons (like blue blocker).
