An article published on our website covers a study published this spring. The findings: Thymectomy benefits and remission is often short-lived rather than long-term.

Keep in mind thymectomies are still lifesaving for some people. Other studies have supported the long-term benefits, including thymectomies reducing the need for Prednisone. Typically, those who have the surgery require fewer hospital stays and emergencies throughout their life due to disease crises.

Was this your experience if you underwent a thymectomy? Was your surgery via robotic-assisted or transsternal method?
