• Do you struggle to empathize with those in a better situation than yourself?

It can be difficult not to compare our chronic experience with MG to others who are expressing their distress about a situation that, to us, is not even close to the struggles we endure. It can also be challenging not to feel angry when other individuals do not consider your health situation when they express their feelings and situations to you.

Do you struggle to empathize with those in better situations than yourself? Do you experience thoughts that their expression of emotion is not valid or that they are not appreciative of what they have?

I am having some many issues empathizing right now. I was fine with just multiple sclerosis and being able to empathize but now with the myasthenia gravis, I actually get upset on social media that people cause some of their own pain by poor diet and get all the love and replies from everyone. I have a bad day or say anything and it’s a ghost town. The most I got is a person after 7 years told me to meditate and eat Kale. I was doing that before 7 years ago! I sit through friends marital issues, health issues, etc. I have anything and no one is there. Tomorrow though I will be expected to empathize with a person who’s depressed, oh no!
