I just had my first IVIG infusion. I was in the hospital for 4 days. My first treatment did not go well. I am a very hard stick. So finding a vein was hard. I took three people to find one. After flushing the port, they started the IVIg. less the 1 second it started to burn. Like HOLY F#ck this hurts. My arm felt like it was on fire. They stopped. Tried to push it in slower and it still burned and I noticed my vein looked blown up and hard. Doctor was called. He told them to start a new line. Once again. Fun, Fun, Fun. Benadryl first. As soon as it went in. Burn. As I watch the med go in . I watched a red line starting to appear. The nurse marked it with her pen. few minutes later. Marked it again. The red line went about 2 inches and stopped. Finished the next 3 treatments with no problem. Doctor discharged me and ask if there was anything he could do? I said “Yes, Take MG away.”
And so my life with MG starts.

    • Hey Jaimie! How have you been doing? My heart sinks reading your experience. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I would love to know what your current MG status is! – Jodi, Team Member
