• Is Sex a trigger for your symptons?

Will try to be delicate. For how many people does sex really ramp up their symptoms? At my age, it occurs not that often, but occasionally a person does have needs. Have no problem at all having sex. I don’t think it is the physical exertion, but rather a neurological trigger or response. Any kind of release (orgasm) knocks me back for couple of days. Not having anything wild and crazy, but even if I just lie completely still and my spouse manually relieves me…well I am weak on my feet, wasted, lightheaded, tingly, right then and for couple of days. So like I say it is not a physical exertion thing. Pretty much had to give it up completely. There went another stress reliever. Are others affected this way?

Kudos for taking the risk. I’m 77 and not had sex with my partner in years due to a combination of factors including treatment for BPH and low libido. In my own case, I think anxiety has become a factor as I find any form of intense exertion off-putting. My challenge is to find more satisfaction in other forms of shared intimacy rather than seeking outright release. As I’ve had this condition for several years, I’m becoming more and more convinced that stress, accumulated stress, is a major factor in neurological diseases which seem to becoming epidemic in our culture.
