About three months ago my neurologist put me on 180 mg Mestinon slow release tablets. I have had a terrible time with nausea because of the lactose in Mestinon. I ate before taking it and also used lactose intolerance supplements. Last week I had a stomach virus and my primary care physician recommended probiotics. That helped greatly for the virus but has also helped with the nausea and diahreah. I can now take the 180 mg slow release Mestinon once a day without any issues. Praise the Lord.

I’m glad you found something that works. Is it just the name brand of Mestinon that you had issues with because of the lactose/whey? Or did generic versions (pyridostigmine bromide) also cause nausea?

Make sure you talk to your physicians before taking any GLP medications. MG patients should not take it because it paralysis the stomach. It is contraindicated.

No it’s not contraindicated! It does not paralyse your stomach. It interferes with the hormone GLP that is responsible for the feeling of fullness. Many myasthenics take to help with weight loss driven by weight gain and type 2 diabetes caused by steroids. Its completely wrong to post things like this without researching it properly first.
