Dear June,
Your experience is amazing… especially becoming a massage therapist! That requires exceptional strength.
Can you please elaborate on aspects of the homeopathic treatment that you had?

I haven’t seen a response to my question about anabolic steroids being used instead corticosteroids. Any thoughts ot experience in that regard?

I know that prednisone has a negative impact on bone density. That’s why I’m wondering about anabolic steroids as a treatment.

Has anyone had a doctor prescribe anabolic steroids rather than corticosteroids?
Thanks!

Wow! Maybe they need to hear the words “class action suit”.
One would hope it doesn’t have to be confrontational.
I hope they change the minds before you need to change facilities.
Best wishes, Wayne

Hi, Folks -a Kaiser Permanente patient. My neurologist has been very helpful. I’m 73, had a thymectomy about a year ago. I’ve been following the the research on FcRn receptor inhibition and Eculizumab binding to C5 and thus inhibits the cleavage of C5 into C5a and C5b. I suspect that most MG neurologists don’t get into this stuff with their…[Read more]

Hi Folks,
I’ve been waiting for Vyvgart to become available, with its FcRn receptor inhibitors. My neurologist isn’t enthusiastic about new drugs. Also, Kaiser has its own approval process.

Thank you, Diane, for your very thoughtful words. I totally agree that those who have suffered from the vaccine should be provided with proper financial and social supports. My ocular myasthenia was turned into Generalized Myasthenia Gravis from the interferon I was prescribed for another disease I had. I don’t blame my doctor since I hadn’t…[Read more]

Hi Folks –
There is so much misinformation about covid and the vaccines. I’ve had my spleen removed after being hit by an suv. I’ve had a thymectomy. I’m getting 2 knee replacements in a couple months.
I’ve had 3 covid vaccines. The second one was somewhat painful for a day or so. The fact is that the unvaccinated are filling up the hospitals…[Read more]

Wayne Eisen replied to the topic Does MG cause severe onset insomnia or does one's MG pills cause it? in the forum Hacks, Suggestions, and Tips for Living with Myasthenia Gravis 1 year, 6 months ago
Jonathan A,
2,000 mg of prednisone a day? Holy cow!!! 60 mg/day is a high dose. Prednisone can produce the problems it’s supposed to address. Testosterone can aromatize into estrogen.
Good luck! Wayne

Theresa G, thank you for your post! 12/23 is FDA approval date for which drug? Not only Medicare approval… also Kaiser approval is needed in my case. These treatments will get approval eventually.
Best wishes to all!

Yes. My neurologist responds to a lot my questions about research that I do toward aggressively pushing toward total remission. He prefers to go with established treatments rather than experimental trial treatments.
He supported my having a thymectomy, even though I’m 72 and have a number of co-morbidities.
I’ve told him that I’m trying to get…[Read more]

Anabolic steroids are the steroids you hear of athletes using to mimic the effects of testosterone. Corticosteroids are usually much more potent than what occurs naturally in the body 🙂 So it is not used to treat Myasthenia gravis
