The first time I heard about MG was when I went into a full crisis and was hospitalized. I had 5 plasmapheresis treatments, was started on Mestinon and IV steroids and still didn’t respond. I then had 7 IVIG treatments and finally started to see a difference. Once they released me from the hospital, they gave me 90 days of intense PT,OT, & speech therapy. This all happened at the beginning of 2021. A few months earlier, I had been diagnosed with Leukemia and have learned that it can cause auto immunes. I feel extremely blessed that I don’t have many symptoms at all and are able to keep it in check with 60-90mg of Mestinon a day. I know it could be much worse.
