Short Bio | I am a Jesuit priest and physician who practiced both geriatric internal medicine and geriatric psychiatry from 1975 to 2010 until sent to Australia for most of 2011. ย Upon return I chose not to return to full-time medical practice as a result of both increasing fatigue, particularly when on night call or rounding, and the desire to do more priestly work (I was ordained only in 2007). ย Mestinon was effective for a long time but, since 2019 have been on mycophenolate with reasonably good response to 2500 mg/day in two doses. ย Increasing dipolopia responded well to a recent new prescription for glasses with prisms. ย I have reasonable exercise tolerance during the day but nights are iffy. ย Overall feeling well if I remain within my physical limitations. |
