Hi Peggy, I am also seronegative. I renember last summer when I finally got the diagnosis of MG by my response to Mestinon and an SFEMG test, the PA asked me if I knew what an MG crisis was. Of course I bobbed my head all I wanted to do was get out of there. I really don’t know exactly how a crisis starts or when to call my doctor. I had a couple of disturbing incidents this week that made me wonder if this could be the start of what happens during a MG crisis. I take Mestinon 4 times a day 6 am, 10, 2 and 6 pm. I woke up 2 days in a row just a little before my 6 am Mestinon dose and could not catch my breath. I was just sitting on the edge of my bed. I kept telling myself to calm down and to not panic. I took my 90 mg of Mestinon and in about 1 hour I was breathing better. I still have tightness around my ribcage with some minor pain. It happened the last two mornings. I do know that last night while sleeping I was coughing quite a bit. My allergies are terrible right now. After chasing a diagnosis and a treatment plan for 10 years and feeling like most of the doctors I saw thought I was nuts., I am hesitant to reach out to a doctor now unless I am confident I am experiencing an MG symptom.
