severe leg cramps at night.
Posted by MG Community Member on February 1, 2026 at 4:32 pmI have recently been experiencing very bad leg cramps at night, affecting my feet, lower and upper legs. I understand this could be due to walking too much or climbing stairs. It takes me about 15 minutes by stretching and walking for the cramps to subside. Any advice regarding recovering from them or preventing them. They are very painful.

MemberFebruary 1, 2026 at 8:36 pmI have them as well and I have been told it’s from my Mestinon. I take 60mgs x3 daily. I have to agree with you that if I do to much I really get them bad so I tend to think that may be it. Let me know what you figure out.

MemberFebruary 6, 2026 at 8:20 pmYes, very painful, and I also have cramping in my hands. I lowered my Mestinon to 30mg 3 times daily (Dr approved) which helped slightly.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, I tried some 25mg CBD gummies (no THC) twice daily about a month ago. It took 2 or 3 days to kick in but I’m seeing a significant reduction in cramping.
There are some concerns about consuming CBD for people on blood thinners, so do some research first before diving in.
It’s working for me so far, hopefully it will work for you too. 👍

Hope this helps

MemberFebruary 27, 2026 at 1:41 pmI am 2 1/2 years into MG. Recently, I have started getting cramps in my feet and toes. They do not last too long but I never had them before. My neurologist said I can not take a magnesium supplement.
