• MG Pacing Strategies: What Actually Helps You Conserve Energy?

Many people with MG search for pacing strategies that help conserve energy and prevent flare‑ups. Fatigue management is a huge part of living with myasthenia gravis, especially when symptoms can shift from steady to shut down in minutes.

For me, pacing became essential once I realized my body wasn’t following predictable rules anymore. I had to learn to coexist with a body that didn’t care about my to‑do list, my plans, or my stubbornness.

Some pacing strategies that help me include:

    • Breaking tasks into smaller steps
    • Resting before I feel exhausted
    • Planning high‑energy tasks earlier in the day
    • Leaving buffer time between activities
    • Listening when my body whispers “slow down” instead of waiting for it to roar

What pacing strategies work for you?

Have you found routines that help your energy last longer?

I really haven’t found any suggestions that prevent fatigue. Because my body does not respond the same consistently.
