• Switching from Soliris

Posted by MG Community Member on January 21, 2026 at 6:49 am

I have been on Soliris for almost 6 years. I have had great success with it. Recently, it was recommended to my doctor to switch me to Epysqli which is biosimilar. It was just approved in the US in 2025. Has anyone ever been on this new drug, and, if so, how well did it work?

Just curious . . . but if you find something working, why would you want to try something different ? What are the potential increase in benefits ?

There is no potential increase in benefits. It’s biosimilar, so it works the same way. Has the same main ingredient.

I’ve also been on Soliris for over 7+ years and it has been the best medicine by far for my MG than any other. I’ve been on multiple different types of IVIG and failed them all. I’m also currently taking mestinon and cellcept. After my initial visit with my new neurologist a few years ago, he highly suggested for me to do a clinical trial or start Vyvgart. He said that the Vyvgart would cover 2 out of my 3 antibodies and would work better than my Soliris bc it only covers one antibody. But if you are ever considering a clinical trial, you have to stay on soliris and cannot be on Vyvgart for at least 6 months (I believe) before starting a clinical trial and obviously cannot be on Vyvgart during a clinical trial. I’ve done two of the Car-T decartes-8 clinical trials and have had to stay on Soliris.
