• When MG changes your daily routine: What was the hardest adjustment for you?

Posted by MG Community Member on January 20, 2026 at 8:00 am

MG can reshape daily routines in ways people don’t expect. Many people search for guidance on adapting when muscle weakness, fatigue, or fluctuating symptoms force changes in how they move through the day.

For me, the hardest adjustment was slowing down after years of pushing through everything — including seven years of being dismissed before finally receiving my diagnosis. MG required me to rethink everything from how I get ready in the morning to how I plan my workday. It wasn’t just a physical shift; it was an emotional one.

Learning to build gentler routines felt like learning to trust my body again.

    What about you?

What was the hardest daily‑life adjustment MG asked you to make?

Sounds like you’re doing well with it (so to speak). Fortunately for me I had already permanently retired when I was diagnosed but was and still am very active with working on our house and working at the VFW, traveling, etc. As you said, I had to relearn my body and its new limitations. But most of not allow GMG to defeat me.
