I Started Soliris in 2019. It gave me my life back. Before Soliris I had weakness in arms ,neck ,Hands, Jaw, swallowing, lungs and double vision. I did ivig 2 times a month and took 700mg of mestinon per day. Now the only weakness is very little in my facial muscles. Good luck.

I was taking 3  60 mg Mestinon 4 times daily. Then I switched to the  4 180mg SR Mestinon and it seem to work better. I get 180mg SR out of Canada because it is lots cheaper than in the states. My MG has backed off a lot since I started taking Soliris so I only take 1  180mg SR now and 2.5 mg of Prednisone. If you need to know where I get the 180 SR let me know.

    Hope this helps

  • I started having jaw weakness  first then the double vision in august 2013 and was diagnosed with Gmg in December 2013 .  Things got a lot worse from there. I was 63 when I was diagnosed. I have glasses with prisms that really help the double vision. 2 Ivig infusions  a month and 2 Soliris infusions a month, 180 mg SR mestinon, 2mg prednisone a day. Hope this helps. I pray that you only have ocular mg. Good luck.

I’ve had gmg since 2013, I am 69 now. Had my thymus removed 2014. I get a Soliris and IVIG infusion bi monthly,  180mg of mestinon SR, 2mg prednisone daily. When my mg flares up I take up to 720mg mestinon SR and 10 mg prednisone daily. High doses of Prednisone does not agree with me. I have had double vision from the beginning, it comes and goes, At first I wore a eye patch as needed for driving and all other activities.  4 years ago my optometrist fit me with a glasses that had prisms in them and it works. I can’t drive for long periods of time but 2 or 3 hours is fine now. 2 years ago I drove down to Arizona from Oregon pulling a 28 ft trailer averaged  7 – 8 hours driving a day with breaks. It is a moving target for me but still manageable. Hope this Helps.

I started my IVIG’s in the hospital 5 days in a row. In 2014 after I had my Thymus removed and they also found a cancer in my chest.  When I went in I had trouble breathing, swallowing, double vision, chewing, weakness in neck, arms hands, bowels and speech.  The IVIG treatment helped, no side effects. After I got done with the radiation I got better and the MG went into remission for 2 years then started back again slowly. The double vision came back then jaw weakness, in about a year I was back to where I was 3 years before. I started IVIG again and it did not help as much. So I started Soliris, it gave me the boost I needed. I function almost normal now. I still get 2 infusions of 80 grams flebogamma a month and 2 infusions of 900mg Soliris  a month. I also take 3 to 4 180mg mestinon SR, 5mg prednisone. I get my Mestinon SR out of Canada (lots cheaper than medicare) I don’t take  any of the premeds with the IVIG. I walk 2 miles every day and very active.  Good Luck.

Hi Amy, In august of 2019 I started Soliris. Once a week four times, since then every 2 weeks  and still do. Never have done plex, But I do get IVIG ( 10% Immune globulin) every 2 weeks on the  opposite weeks of Soliris. The Soliris helped with all my weaknesses, swallowing, chewing, double vision, arms, breathing, neck,
<div class=”AppleOriginalContents”>Eyelids, face muscles and hands.I still have weaknesses in jaw, arms, swallowing, double vision but not near as bad as before. I also take a 180mg SR mestinon and 2mg prednisone. Medicare is covering all but the deductible. That is the only insurance that I have. Soliris gave me my life back, now I am walking 2 miles a day, cutting firewood , yard work and stay active in other ways. Sorry to hear about your brother. Hope this helps. 😊 Dave</div>
