I believe the first sign was extreme fatigue and not being able to walk short distances without resting. The progression became serious when he couldn’t even swallow a capful of water.  We later learned that water is the most difficult liquid to swallow.  Being unable to swallow food or drink, he was hospitalized in 2019.

The mg crises happened while he was confined to the ICU unit.  Otherwise there would not have been …  After  IVig treatments, pyridostigmine and prednisone medications, and a thymectomy, all is better.  He is off all meds and treatments as of January 1, 2023!

To remain safe from the virus we plan weekly outdoor daytrips, no airplanes, trains, or busses.  So far this Spring we have taken trips to a botanical garden, Duke Estates farm, the boardwalk before the summer rush, a car show, garden nursery, and an outdoor play. We have a lot of other daytrips to look forward to enjoying together. Happy Summer to all!

Diagnosed 3 years ago when admitted into the hospital during a mg crises.  Intubated, feeding tube, fentanyl, propofol, IVIG, metronidazole for aspiration pneumonia, prednisone 60 mg daily, and pyridostigmine bromide.

Currently only on prednisone 5 mg every other day.

Surprised.  Remission means symptom free with remarkably less intervention.  Remission is a welcomed respite.  There is no cure for mg.

I agree with Anita.  Low pressure systems causes fatigue and daytime naps for 2-3 hours.

Caution required for deep cold or raw air as well as searing heat.  Extremes in temperatures can be a problem.

We followed Dexter and Yellowjackets, not necessarily uplifting but intriguing.  Currently the Barrett- Jackson car auction and the History channel, documentary on Grant with one upcoming on Lincoln. Old comedies on the movie channel.

The double edged sword Prednisone has kept mg in check as well as substantial weight gain.

My husband was diagnosed with mg 2 and 1/2 years ago, an arduous process that took 9 months to finally have an answer to what was happening.  It took a mg crises while in the hospital to determine the cause of his inability to chew, swallow, or speak.  We both had the Moderna vaccine last February. My husband had a scary reaction to the 2nd shot, fever and tiredness.  The reaction only lasted 24 hours. Currently he is in remission and we do not want to disturb anything with a booster shot at this time.

Many thanks for addressing the sleeping (or not being able to sleep) issue.

My husband was diagnosed with mg in 2019 after 9 months of puzzlement. Just wanted to weigh in and agree with you.  Insomnia is a major problem.
