I had one episode after stopping to eat half way on a 200 mile trip when my eyelids started jittering and I could hardly keep my eyes open. Removed my colored glasses and could see better. It stopped in about 4-5 minutes. They jitter sometimes after I eat supper at home, too. Or, if I use my eyes too much looking at a screen.

I have experienced watery, jittery eyes as a side effect of Mestinon, usually occurring about an hour after taking the mestinon. My eyes clear up after a few mnutes. My neurologist prescribed glycopyrolate to lessen the negative side effects of the mestinon. It generally helps, but there are days when I still have to deal with jiettery, watery eyes.

I have double vision and one eye that shuts and opens at times. While driving the one eye that normally remains shut opened and the ensuing double vision caused me to view a car approaching in a circle as heading towards me and I veered to the left and hit the curb destroying the wheel rim and putting the suspension out of normal.

I have blurred and double vision from my MG but so far not the droopy eyelids. The one thing that has helped considerably is the prism glasses that my near-opthomologist has prescribed. The glasses relax my eyes and, unless I am overly tired, I can see much better. Without these prism glasses, I have 20/20 vision. The best time to get measured for prisms is when you are seeing double because they can find the percentage of prism that helps you see a single image and not double. I have MG with the anti-LRP4 antibody, and I’d like to know if anyone else has this same rare antibody. Good luck.

I have seronegative MG and double vision was my first symptom. It was fairly easily controlled by Mestinon, but since time has passed and I have other symptoms that’s not always true. However, my ophthalmologist prescribed prism glasses and they have made all the difference. I only needed them initially to see tv but, now, when I walk the dog or sometimes when I’m extra tired driving they save the day. I just ordered a pair of them as sunglasses. I can’t say enough good things about them.
