I became quite incapacitated at times at age 15. Was diagnosed with MG in 1959. Suffered a crisis and was admitted to University of Minnesota Hospital where I received a thymectomy, followed by a lossof vital signs, had to be resuscitated and given a tracheotomy. I stayed on a ventilator for some time. My condition gradually inproved over a period of years. By late 30s lingering symptom was wadering eyes and by early 40s complete remission. I hike mountains and participate in Zumba classes. But I still have nightmares MG is coming back and observe all warnings re: things a myasthenic should not do e.g. Botox injections. Now at 81 years of age, I am thankful for my health every single day.
