Q1: How can I do “sports” or workouts without trespassing my limits?

A: I think it really comes down to finding workouts and activities you enjoy that don’t push you past your limits or cause excessive fatigue. When people think of exercise, they often picture running or intense gym sessions, but that doesn’t work for everyone. I’ve personally found that low-intensity workouts (especially those focused on building core strength, like Pilates) are much more manageable and enjoyable for me.

Q2: Exercise, and how people car be judgy with me saying no to running all together.

A: MG is so unique, and everyone responds to physical activity differently. I’ve met people with MG who can run and lift weights regularly, and that works for them, but I try not to compare my abilities to anyone else’s. It’s really about understanding your limits and keeping open communication with your provider as you figure out what works best for you.

Q3: Do exercise and if so how do you manage fatigue?

A: Yes, I do pilates, yoga, and go for short walks to stay active. I usually stick to 2 days out of the week and make sure to plan a day in between to recover. As it relates to fatigue, I pause my workouts and take breaks as much as I need to. On hard days, I’ll stop completely if my body isn’t feeling it 🤣. I also do a lot of Zumba-type dance classes because I find them way more fun than traditional workouts.

I do a lot of exercise

Workout at the gym, weights and everything at least 4 times a week

After the gym I play tennis very intense like 2 1/2 hours every single day

No issues with my fatigue in the morning

The fatigue starts at about 12:30-13:00

My first dose of Mestinon with Azathioprine is about 5:30 am

Then just the Mestinon every 4 hours

Feel ok. I can handle that

I’m impressed! Do you ever have pain or discomfort from exercising?
