So sorry to hear of your negative reaction to Pyridostigmine. I have had gMG for over six years. For the first four years I was taking 60mg Pyridostigmine @ 3 to 4 per day. The nighttime leg cramps were horrible. I modified my medication to 2 Pyridostigmine per day (morning and noon), and 500mg Mycophenolate @ 1 per day (5:00pm). The leg cr…[Read more]

I have had gMG since 2017. The first year or so I was taking 60mg pyridostigmine 4 times per day. The frequent night time leg and foot cramps were horrible, and I had to stand up to relieve the tension in my muscles. In 1984 I accidently treated myself with chlordane by brief gusty winds that caused the chemical to contact my skin. I soon realized that the chemical was damaging my nervous system, and took an extensive cool shower to alleviate the pain, but to no avail. A trip to the emergency room was necessary. I spoke with my doctor and started 250mg mycophenolate (generic for cellcept) twice a day, and the leg cramps stopped, but I was not as strong as with pyridostigmine. We upped the dosage to 500mg tablets twice a day, and that helped somewhat. Still lacking the results that I was hoping for, I now take 500mg mycophenolate twice a day alternating…[Read more]

@rfedermann I found cellcept via GoodRX.com at Kroger pharmacy (ie. Smith’s in Nevada) for $52.64 for 180 500mg tablets. I will be discussing a try of this with my Dr. this month.

Hi, Norman. Let us know how the cellcept goes. My Neuro was going to try it last yr. But with COVID on the rise, he said wait on it. I’m thinking about bringing it up again too.
