Short Bio

My 69 years old husband has MG (don’t know yet exactly which kind), has lost 45 lbs. in 10 weeks because he can barely swallow. Primary care doc did take blood and confirmed he does have the antibodies. Also did chest Xray and said Thymus looked “normal.” Sometimes he loses his breath for a minute or so. So far, no ER visits. His eyes were giving him the most problems the first few weeks, but now that’s a little better, but the breath and swallowing is terrible. He can’t stand up straight and before all this hit him, he was healthy and had never had to go to a doctor. His appoint with Nero Specialist isn’t until 3/27 and we’ve been waiting over a month. He stays in a rage and cries all the time which is not typical for him, but I understand it’s what he’s going thru. What do others (that have these symptoms) typically get prescribed to help with swallowing? Is it the Prednisone or Mestinon? Thanks in advance for the feedback!
