    It started with her droopiness in her left eye, along with generalized weakness. In addition also had swallowing & speech issues too. I am not certain that I answered your question. Interesting to note, I just stumbled across medication that people with MG should NOT be given. This explains why my mom has had such weakness and other MG problems…[Read more]

    • From what you describe, she likely has generalized MG as it is not solely her eyes affected! Honestly and so you’re not hard on yourself and continually be disappointed, you will always have this with health professionals, at least for a while, until there is more awareness.

    My mom had been telling doctors for, her words, “over 20 years”, and the doctor’s only responded with scripting physical therapy. It wasn’t until her orthopedics who was treating her for bone on bone in her knees suggested that she gets a neurologist consult.…[Read more]

  • My mom (87yo) has been on this medication for over a year and a-half. Aside from one episode of anemia (meds dosage had to be reduce), and bruising which may or may not be caused from azathioprine (she is on a blood thinner) this medication has been well tolerated.
